Trade-In Terms

These terms apply to the purchase of used devices (smartphones, game consoles, MacBooks and comparable electronics) by Reparo. By submitting a trade-in request and shipping your device, you accept these terms.

The key point first: the amount shown online is a non-binding estimate based on your details — not a binding offer to buy. The final price is set only after our inspection (diagnosis) in Vienna. For heavily damaged devices or for other reasons we may also decline the purchase. If the inspected price does not suit you, we return your device against a shipping fee of €10.

1. Provider and scope

The provider and buyer is Reparo, Dr.-Natterer-Gasse 4a/Top 57, 1020 Vienna ("Reparo"). These trade-in terms apply to all purchases initiated via the website, by email or by phone; the trade-in is handled by post only, there is no drop-off or pickup. They take precedence over any conflicting terms of the seller. Only a person who is at least 18 years old and has full legal capacity may act as seller.

2. Non-binding estimate — not an offer to buy

The amounts shown on the website are automatically calculated, non-binding estimates based on the seller's details (model, storage, condition, function). They do not constitute a binding offer by Reparo to purchase, but merely a non-binding invitation to the seller to offer the device for sale.

Offer by email (fixed price or price range): if Reparo, after reviewing the seller's details, communicates a purchase price or a price range by email, this amount is also subject to inspection of the device. If the actual condition, function, model, storage, completeness or authenticity differs from the details given, the final purchase price may be below the stated amount or below the stated range. In that case Reparo tells the seller the reason. The seller is not bound by the accepted offer and may freely decline the final price (see section 10).

A purchase contract is formed only once Reparo has inspected the device received and has expressly confirmed the purchase at a specific amount in text form (e.g. by email) and the seller accepts that amount. Until then there is no claim to a purchase or to any particular price.

3. Process

  • The seller selects device and condition and receives a non-binding estimate.
  • Reparo informs the seller by email whether and at what amount or within which range a purchase is possible. If the seller accepts, they receive an insured, free shipping label for an address in Austria; from other countries they ship at their own cost. Drop-off or collection is not possible.
  • Reparo inspects the device for model, storage, cosmetic condition, function and authenticity.
  • Reparo informs the seller of the result and the final purchase price in text form.
  • If the seller accepts, payout follows. If not (or if Reparo declines), the device is returned against a shipping fee of €10.

4. Inspection, re-assessment and refusal

Reparo reserves the right to fully inspect every device on receipt. If the actual condition, function, model, storage, completeness or authenticity differs from the seller's details, Reparo is entitled to adjust downwards the estimated amount or the amount or range stated by email, or to refuse the purchase entirely. Reparo states the reason for the adjustment in text form; the seller then freely decides between acceptance and return (section 10).

Reparo is at no point obliged to purchase a device and may refuse the purchase — in particular where there is suspicion of unlawful origin, manipulation, missing ownership or right of disposal, or incomplete information — without giving reasons.

5. Seller's warranties

By shipping or handing over the device, the seller expressly warrants that

  • they are the sole owner of the device and have unrestricted right of disposal,
  • the device is not stolen, embezzled, leased, assigned as security or encumbered with third-party rights,
  • the device does not originate from a criminal offence and is not subject to any search/registration,
  • their details on model, storage, condition and function are truthful and complete.

The seller is liable for the accuracy of these warranties. Reparo is held harmless from any third-party claims arising from a breach of these warranties; the seller indemnifies Reparo in this respect.

6. Device locks and accounts

The device must be free of any activation lock or account binding (e.g. "Find My"/iCloud Activation Lock, Google account/Factory Reset Protection, MDM/device management). As long as a lock is active or an account remains linked, Reparo cannot purchase the device. Removing all locks and signing out of all accounts is the seller's responsibility.

7. Data deletion and privacy

The seller is solely responsible for backing up and irreversibly deleting all personal data before shipping and for resetting the device to factory settings. Reparo accepts no liability for data remaining on the device or for its loss. Reparo is entitled to reset the device and delete all data for inspection and refurbishment. Processing of personal data during the transaction is carried out in accordance with Reparo's privacy policy.

8. Shipping and risk

Reparo provides an insured shipping label. The seller is obliged to pack the device securely for transport. Reparo is not liable for damage or loss resulting from inadequate packaging or from a shipping route chosen by the seller that was not provided by Reparo.

9. Payout

Payout of the agreed amount is made after acceptance by the seller, as a rule within around 48 hours after passing inspection, exclusively cashless via PayPal or bank transfer to the details provided by the seller. No cash payout is made.

10. Refusal and return

If the seller does not agree with the final purchase price communicated after inspection, or if Reparo declines the purchase, the seller may request the device back. In this case the seller bears the cost of return shipping. Shipping is via Austrian Post at a flat rate of €10 per device. The device is returned only after receipt of this amount.

If the seller does not respond to the notice of the final price or refusal within 14 days, Reparo is entitled to store the device at the seller's cost and risk and, after setting a reasonable grace period, to further utilise or dispose of it; any storage and handling costs may be invoiced.

11. Liability

Reparo is liable without limitation only for intent and gross negligence and under mandatory statutory provisions. Otherwise, Reparo's liability — to the extent legally permissible — is limited to the agreed purchase price of the device concerned. Liability for data loss, for accessories/SIM/memory cards not removed, and for indirect damage is excluded.

12. Suspicion of unlawful origin

Where there is reasonable suspicion of unlawful origin of the device, Reparo is entitled to refuse the purchase, withhold payout and inform the competent authorities. Reparo may request reasonable proof to verify the seller's identity.

13. Final provisions

Austrian law applies, excluding the conflict-of-law rules of private international law. Place of jurisdiction is — to the extent legally permissible — Vienna. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected; the invalid provision is replaced by the legally permissible rule that comes closest to its economic purpose. Reparo may amend these terms with effect for future purchases; the version published at the time of the request applies.
