If an earbud crackles with noise cancellation on, the case no longer charges or an earbud went silent after the washing machine, we buy the AirPods Pro 3 as faulty, from 35 €. What we look at on AirPods Pro 3
We test both earbuds for sound, microphones, noise cancellation and Transparency mode, plus the heart-rate sensor and battery life. On the case we look at the surface, lid, hinge and USB-C port. Hygiene matters to us: take off the ear tips and rinse them with clean water, and wipe earbuds and case dry. Cable and box add nothing.

Remove the AirPods Pro 3 from your Apple Account and reset them
Open the Find My app, choose your AirPods Pro 3 under Devices and tap Remove This Device. To reset them, put both earbuds in the case, close the lid for 30 seconds and open it again. The Pro 3 case has no button: double-tap the front of the case while the light is on, again when it flashes white and a third time when it flashes faster. Apple shows this on its support page.

AirPods Pro 3 from 2025 usually still run as long as on day one, so there is no deduction. If they last clearly shorter than a few hours at a stretch, we check it and reflect it in the offer. The earbud battery cannot be replaced.
Do I have to send the ear tips with my AirPods Pro 3?
Yes, please include the tips fitted on the earbuds. We do not need the spare sizes from the box, they add nothing. Torn ear tips count as wear; rinsing with clean water and letting them dry fully is enough before shipping.
Can I send my AirPods Pro 3 from anywhere in Austria for free?

On its Austrian trade-in page Apple does not name AirPods as a category of their own; headphones and accessories are recycled for free. With us you get a fixed amount for working AirPods Pro 3 by PayPal or bank transfer.
Do you buy AirPods Pro 3 that were used a lot for sport?
Yes. The AirPods Pro 3 are protected against sweat and splashes, so training alone does them no harm. We still check whether the mesh and ear tips are clean and both sides play equally loud. Clean them dry beforehand, and it stays at the level you select in the calculator.
