If the PS5 ejects the disc or won't pull it in at all, three causes are common: the disc drive mechanism is jammed (service €89), the KES-497A laser pickup is faulty (replacement in the same service), or the entire disc drive needs replacing. PS5 SSD installation (storage upgrade via the M.2 Gen 4 slot) costs €49 at Reparo incl. installation, formatting and data migration. To add 1TB to a PS5 or go bigger: we recommend the WD Black SN850X or Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink (Sony-certified spec). The internal PS5 drive is soldered (825 GB internal), but the M.2 slot allows a 1–8 TB upgrade. If the slot is defective (micro-soldering work), we clarify that in the diagnosis. The SSD is either bring-your-own or ordered by us.

"PS5 won't charge" has three main causes: power supply defective (standby LED stays off, swap from €99), power button subboard broken (no reaction to the button press, from €79), or mainboard damage (BGA reballing on the APU chip).
