The iPhone 16e has an aluminium housing with a matte glass back – similar to the standard iPhone 16, but without MagSafe. That saves repair effort, because the MagSafe magnet rings need no additional alignment. Beneath the glass sits the Qi charging coil, which stays intact during the replacement. After the back glass replacement the device charges reliably again with any Qi-certified charging pad.

Why is the back glass replacement more expensive than a screen replacement?
With the screen, only the front unit is detached from the housing. The back, however, is bonded to the aluminium frame – removal is only possible via a laser process, otherwise the frame or the Qi coil would be damaged. This time and precision are the reason for the 149 €.
