How the Note 20 Ultra screen replacement works
- Incoming test, 20 minutes
We check the curved panel for pressure marks, cracks and dead touch zones. S Pen diagnosis with calibration software — pressure sensitivity, tilt, palm rejection. The front camera, in-display fingerprint and earpiece are also tested.
- Opening the frame under temperature control
At 65 °C we release the IP68 adhesive ring. The Armor Aluminum housing stays free of distortion, the curved edges are especially protected during opening.
- Separate the old panel, secure the digitizer
We release the curved AMOLED module from the mid-frame. The S Pen digitizer and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor stay on their flex cables at the mainboard.
- New display, IP seal, calibration
Fresh IP adhesive ring, position the new curved panel, connect the flex cables. After reassembly: S Pen calibration, fingerprint re-setup, 120 Hz test. Done after 2.5 hours.

The original Samsung panel for 219 € is especially worth it for graphic designers, illustrators or note-taking professionals. For standard use the 169 € replacement part is enough. Both versions last several years with normal handling.
Is the IP68 certification still met after the procedure?
The original IP68 certification legally expires after every third-party procedure — regardless of the quality of the work. We fully renew the adhesive frame, after which the device is protected against splash water. Avoid submerging.

Yes. The digitizer is protected and, after the replacement, calibrated with Samsung tools. Pressure sensitivity detection and tilt sensor are preserved.
How long does the replacement take?
Around 2.5 hours — the curved panel assembly and S Pen calibration take more time than on the Note 20. In Vienna same-day.
The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor — does it still work?
Yes. The sensor sits on the mainboard and is not replaced during the screen replacement. After installation, re-learn the fingerprint once in Android.
Can only the front glass be replaced?
No. On the Note 20 Ultra the curved glass, AMOLED and S Pen digitizer are firmly bonded. A single glass swap would destroy the panel and the digitizer.
Are all Samsung Notes preserved?
Yes. The flash memory is not touched. Samsung Notes with S Pen sketches, WhatsApp, photos, DeX settings — everything stays. A Samsung Cloud backup is recommended.
What warranty do I have on the new display?
6 months on the panel, installation, S Pen function, touch and colour drift. New drop or water damage after the repair is not covered.
My Note 20 Ultra shows green patches at the edge — cause?
Curved-edge panels are sensitive to side pressure. Green patches arise from OLED cell damage under the panel. A screen replacement solves the problem.
