How the Note 20 screen replacement works
- Intake test incl. S-Pen check
In 20 minutes we test the display, touch and S-Pen digitizer. The pen is tested with calibration software — pressure, tilt detection, palm rejection. The result shows which components are actually affected.
- Open the frame, secure the digitizer
At 60 °C we release the back-cover adhesive film evenly. The S-Pen digitizer sits directly under the AMOLED panel — when opening, the flex connection must be protected, otherwise S-Pen detection fails after the repair.
- Separate the faulty panel
We release the old display module from the mid-frame. The S-Pen digitizer electronics are preserved and thoroughly cleaned before the new panel is positioned over them.
- New panel, S-Pen calibration, test
Fresh adhesive film, fit the new AMOLED panel, connect the flex cable. After reassembly we calibrate the S-Pen digitizer with Samsung tools. 2.5 hours of total work.

Note 20 screen replacement — is it still worth it in 2026?
The Note 20 is the last classic Samsung Note. Used, it currently costs €290 to €380. Our replacement is €149 (replacement panel) or €199 (original). A new S24 Ultra with S Pen starts at €1,050. Anyone who needs the S-Pen workflow no longer finds a Samsung successor model outside the Ultra line.

Does the IP68 rating stay intact?
No. The Note 20 has IP68, but after any third-party intervention the seal can no longer be guaranteed. We renew the adhesive frame, daily splash-water scenarios remain no problem — we do not recommend submersion.
Do S-Notes, screenshots, data stay intact?
Yes. The flash storage is not touched. Samsung Notes, screenshots, WhatsApp, contacts, photos — everything stays. A Samsung Cloud backup before the repair is recommended.
Fingerprint sensor in the display — does it work afterwards?
Yes. The optical in-display sensor stays functional with the new panel. It may need a one-time re-enrolment on first use.
Can I just replace the glass?
No. Glass, AMOLED and S-Pen digitizer are firmly laminated on the Note 20. A single glass swap destroys the panel and digitizer. We always replace the complete module.

For standard use the replacement at €149 is enough. Anyone using the S Pen for professional graphics or precise signature detection should go for the original Samsung panel at €199.
Pink lines while scrolling — is a restart enough?
Short term yes, permanently no. Lines indicate a flex-cable contact break between panel and mainboard. A restart helps for minutes, only the screen replacement fixes it permanently.
Can I drop my Note 20 off with you?
No. Reparo has no customer access. Courier in Vienna or postal send-in service from the provinces — both included in the price.
How does the Vienna pickup service work?
Book online, time window 9 am to 6 pm. Courier to all 23 districts (1010 to 1230). Repair at our place, return delivery usually the same day.

First a 25 EUR diagnosis for mainboard corrosion. Water under the display and corrosion on the S-Pen electronics must be clarified first, otherwise the screen replacement only lasts weeks.
