We test touch along the fold line, the resistance of the hinge mechanism and the condition of the PET protective film. The 3.4-inch outer display is checked separately — it is its own AMOLED module and stays untouched.

- Removing the old panel, cleaning the area
The defective Flex AMOLED is detached from the hinge core. Every dust particle is removed with ionizer air — even a single grain in the crease area destroys the new film.
- New original panel, film, calibration
Apply the original Samsung panel with PET film. Connect the flex cables. After reassembly: 20 fold cycles as a stress test, calibrate the hinge resistance against the reference value. Done after 3 hours.

359 € repair vs. 780 € used Flip6 vs. 1,190 € new Flip7. The Flip6 is still a premium device right now — flagship chip, 50 MP camera, current updates. The display replacement is expensive, but far cheaper than a replacement device.
Put plainly: foldable aftermarket panels exist on the market, but we do not fit them. The crease mechanism needs exactly matched original material, otherwise the panel usually cracks again within a year. The 359 € original is the honest option.
How do you avoid a second crease break?
Do not trap any objects between the halves when closing. At temperatures below 0 °C do not fold abruptly — the Flex AMOLED is more brittle in the cold. Never press the crease with a fingernail. With this care you will get another 2 to 3 years.

Why original only and no aftermarket?
Foldable aftermarket panels rarely last longer than 12 months at the crease. We fit exclusively original Samsung panels — more expensive, but durable and safe.
Is the outer display replaced as well?
No. The 3.4-inch outer AMOLED is its own module and is not replaced during the inner display swap. A separate service if needed.
How long does the replacement take?
Around 3 hours. Longer than classic displays because of the hinge complexity. Same-day in Vienna, 3 to 4 business days from the provinces.
Does the IPX8 certification remain after the work?
We renew the seal completely. The original Samsung IPX8 legally expires through third-party work — but splash water remains no problem. Avoid submerging.
Can only the damaged part be replaced?
No. The Flex AMOLED unit is one piece. Even with local damage the complete panel has to be replaced.
Is my data preserved during the display replacement?
Yes. Flash storage, SIM card and contacts are not touched. Photos, WhatsApp, Samsung account stay unchanged.
Fingerprint sensor — is it touched during the replacement?
On the Flip6 the fingerprint sensor sits in the power button on the side, not in the display. It is not touched during the display replacement, no re-setup needed.

Yes. The Flip6 is flagship tech from 2024, updates run until 2031. 359 € against a 1,190 € Flip7 — clearly cheaper.
Water contact at the Flip6 hinge — still repairable?
First a 25 € diagnostic. Liquid in the hinge can permanently damage the flex routing. In case of corrosion the mainboard has to be cleaned first, otherwise the new display unit will not last long.
