How we replace the Fold3 inner display
- Intake test incl. S Pen check
We check touch along the crease line, test the S Pen Fold Edition for pressure-level detection, assess the condition of the PET protective film and the hinge mechanism. The under-display camera is checked separately.
- Open the frame under temperature control
The Fold3 has two separate housing frames connected via the hinge. Both are opened under temperature control — the IPX8 adhesive tape has to be released properly.
- Detach the old panel
The defective Flex AMOLED is detached from the hinge. The crease area is cleaned in the low-dust chamber — critical for the durability of the new PET film.
- New original panel, film, test

Important: Samsung software support for the Fold3 is expected to end around 2025 to 2026 — the security updates are slowly being thinned out. With a repair you get a technically good device, but one that will be written off update-wise in the foreseeable future. For heavy users it may be better to invest in a Fold6 or 7.
How do you avoid another crease break?
The Fold3 has a slightly stiffer fold radius than later Folds — when closing, nothing must get caught between the halves. In cold below -5 °C, let the radius stabilise slowly. Don't touch the PET film with fingernails or sharp objects.

Is all data retained?
