Typical display damage on the POCO F1
After a drop on the edge, the lower part of the display still shows images while the upper stays black. The cause is a loose flex cable between the IPS panel and the mainboard. A module swap permanently reconnects the display and restores the full image.
The aluminium side rail of the POCO F1 is dented in one spot, and the IPS glass runs out there with a crack. The panel under the glass is often also damaged at that point – a pure glass repair is not enough, the complete module swap is necessary.
After an impact the backlight of the IPS panel pushes through damaged crystal layers – milky-white areas or vertical bright stripes appear. A restart does not fix this, the panel is mechanically defective and has to be swapped as a module.

Unlike modern AMOLED displays, the IPS LCD of the POCO F1 reacts to drops differently: instead of ink-like black blotches that spread over days, the image usually stays visible after a break – crossed with cracks, milky areas or half-dark halves from loose flex connections.
