MacBook trade-in value at a glance
A MacBook Air M1 in like-new condition brings up to 310 €, a MacBook Air M3 up to 570 € and a 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro or Max up to 1140 €. The Intel Air from 2019/2020 sits at up to 170 €. With visible wear we pay about 62 percent of those figures, faulty and never opened about 30 percent. More SSD raises the price, for the Air M1 by 45 € for 512 GB.
A faulty MacBook still has value
A cracked display, a swollen battery or a keyboard that sticks is no reason to leave the MacBook in a drawer. As long as nobody else has opened it, we buy it: a faulty MacBook Air M1 from 95 €, a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro from 160 €, a 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro from 345 €. An old or damaged MacBook with a broken screen or battery goes through the calculator like any other: select the fault and its trade-in value appears straight away.
Air or Pro: what drives the MacBook price
On a MacBook Air, dents in the aluminium case and the battery cycle count matter most. On a Pro the SSD weighs more, because large drives are in demand and cannot be upgraded later: on the 16-inch Pro with M3 Pro, 1 TB instead of 512 GB adds 130 €. Across all models, a display without pixel faults and a battery under 300 cycles lift the price noticeably.
Apple Trade In or selling your MacBook to Reparo?
Apple also takes back Macs through Apple Trade In. It credits the trade-in value towards a new device or issues it as an Apple Gift Card; there is no money paid into your account. With us you get a bank transfer or PayPal payment for your MacBook around 48 hours after the inspection, even with a damaged display. What is my old MacBook worth as a trade-in?
That depends on the model: a 13-inch MacBook Air with Intel from 2019/2020 brings up to 170 € in like-new condition, a MacBook Air M1 up to 310 €, a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro up to 530 €. With light wear we pay about 82 percent of that. Work out the exact value on the model page.
How is the trade-in value of a MacBook calculated?
The starting point is the price in like-new condition with the smallest SSD. We deduct for case condition, display, keyboard and battery cycles, while a larger SSD and the original power adapter add a little. Our calculator does exactly this, and the technician sets the final amount after inspection.
Which MacBook models does Reparo buy?
At fixed prices, the Intel MacBook Air from 2019/2020, the Air with M1, M2 and M3, and the 13, 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro from M1 to M3. Other Macs such as the iMac or Mac mini have no price list; call us and we will tell you whether we take them.
Do I get more for a MacBook Pro than for a MacBook Air?
Usually yes. A 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 brings up to 420 €, a MacBook Air M2 up to 430 €, so here they are almost level. The 14 and 16-inch Pros with an M-Pro chip are worth clearly more, up to 1140 € for the 16-inch model with M3 Pro or Max.
Where can I sell my MacBook Air in Vienna?

Where is the best place to sell a used MacBook?
A private sale on willhaben often pays most, but means photos, viewings and scam attempts. Apple Trade In only gives credit or an Apple Gift Card. With us you get a fixed amount after inspection, including for a refurbished MacBook or one with a fault.
Can I sell my MacBook to Apple for cash?
No, Apple Trade In does not pay cash: the value is credited on a new purchase or issued as an Apple Gift Card. If you want to sell an old MacBook Air or Pro online for cash, paid by bank transfer or PayPal, selling to us is the more direct route. Compare both offers before you decide.
Can I sell a broken MacBook?
Yes, even with a cracked display, water damage or a keyboard that no longer responds, as long as nobody else has opened the case. A faulty MacBook Air M2 brings from 130 €, a faulty 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 from 230 €. If the MacBook no longer starts at all, select that in the calculator.
What do I need to do to prepare my MacBook for the trade-in?
Make a backup with Time Machine or to iCloud. Then turn off Find My, sign out of your Apple Account and erase the MacBook. The key requirement: we can only buy it once Activation Lock is gone. Include the power adapter and pack the device with good padding.
How do I reset my MacBook for sale or trade-in?
On current Macs, open System Settings › General › Transfer or Reset and choose Erase All Content and Settings. That removes data, accounts and Activation Lock in one step. Apple’s instructions for the process are at support.apple.com/en-at/102664.
How much do battery cycles matter when selling a MacBook?
Under 300 cycles the battery counts as top and costs nothing. Between 300 and 800 we deduct a little, above that more, because replacing a MacBook battery is a big job. You find the count under Apple menu › About This Mac › System Report › Power.
What does it cost to send my MacBook from anywhere in Austria?
Nothing. Once you accept the estimate, you get a free insured label by email and drop the parcel at the nearest post office. Pack the MacBook with good padding; the original box is not needed for this.
What if I do not accept the checked price for my MacBook?
You are not bound by the first estimate. If you decline our checked offer, we send your MacBook back for a return fee of 10 €. If the price differs, we explain exactly why beforehand.
When do I get paid for my sold MacBook?
Around 48 hours after the inspection in our Vienna workshop, by PayPal or bank transfer. We deliberately do not pay cash, and every purchase is covered by a written sales contract.
Should I include the power adapter with my MacBook?
Yes, the original power adapter with its cable adds a bonus in the calculator, because a missing adapter has to be replaced before resale. The original box is not required but does no harm. Remove cases and stickers beforehand.
