We pay up to 140 EUR for a used Xiaomi 12S if it is flawless and complete. With small marks it is 110 EUR, with visible wear 75 EUR, and a never-opened phone with a broken display brings 50 EUR. More storage means 25 EUR extra. On the 12S the Leica camera is what most likely pushes the price down if it shows spots or no longer focuses, because it is the only reason to buy the 12S instead of the regular 12.
Imported from China: what we look out for
Most 12S phones in Austria run the Chinese firmware, sometimes with Google services added. For the buyback that makes no difference, as long as the phone works and no account is linked anymore. We test the Leica main camera, the compact display, wired and wireless charging and the stereo speakers.
A crack in the glass, a tired battery or a camera that cuts out: we still buy the 12S, for 50 EUR with a broken display. Only phones opened by third parties get a large deduction.

Signing out of the Mi account on the 12S properly
On the China version, the Xiaomi account, formerly the Mi account, is the lock that matters. Tap your account at the top of Settings, sign out and confirm with your password so that “Find device” is off. If you set up Google services, remove the Google account as well. Then back up your data and reset to factory settings.

Yes, for 50 EUR, as long as it has never been opened. That also applies if the screen stays completely black. Describe in the calculator exactly what no longer works.
Do you buy a Xiaomi 12S even though it was only sold in China?
Yes, with us the 12S is almost always an import, and we buy it at the prices above. The condition is that it works and no Xiaomi account is linked anymore.
The Leica camera of my Xiaomi 12S shows spots, what do I still get?
We still buy it, and you enter spots in the picture under camera in the calculator. Because the camera is the reason to buy a 12S, the deduction is somewhat higher than for a scratch.
Is there a deduction on the Xiaomi 12S for a weak battery?
Yes, if it is below 80 percent or the phone no longer lasts a day. After four years that is the case with many 12S phones and no reason not to sell.

Reset it through the recovery on the Xiaomi account website, usually by text message or email. Only once you can sign out is the phone eligible for our buyback.

Do I need the original Chinese box for the Xiaomi 12S?
No. If you still have it, it brings a small bonus together with the original cable. Without the box we buy the 12S just the same.
