Since early 2024 the Poco X6 5G has been the affordable choice for anyone who wants a large 120 Hz AMOLED and a long-lasting 5,100 mAh battery. The back is plastic, which copes with drops better than glass; in return the force of a drop lands in the screen all the more often. In our workshop we therefore mainly see the Poco X6 with shattered glass, followed by a weakening battery and a USB-C port that no longer makes clean contact after two years of plugging and unplugging.

Poco X6 glass shattered: screen replacement from EUR 159

On the Poco X6 the glass and the AMOLED panel are firmly bonded, so the glass alone cannot be replaced sensibly. We replace the complete screen unit from EUR 159, re-bond the frame and put the fingerprint sensor under the display back into operation. After the repair we check touch, brightness and the 120 Hz refresh rate before the phone goes back.

Poco X6 battery draining fast: replacement for EUR 79

If the battery no longer lasts the day despite 5,100 mAh, the indicator jumps or the Poco X6 switches off at 20 percent, the cell is worn out. The Poco X6 battery replacement costs EUR 79 and takes about an hour. We release the glued battery gently via the back and then test the 67-watt charging. Poco X6 not charging

Before booking, test another cable and charger. If the Poco X6 only charges when you hold the cable in place, or the charging keeps stopping, the USB-C port is worn out; we replace it for EUR 69. If there is only dust in the port, the cleaning for EUR 20 is enough. If the phone does not charge at all, the battery is part of the diagnosis too.

Test another cable and charger and shine a light into the USB-C port, there is often just dust inside. If the Poco X6 only charges with the cable pressed in or not at all, the port is worn out; the replacement costs EUR 69. Poco X6 getting hot: cause for concern?

During 67-watt fast charging the Poco X6 gets warm, that is normal. If it gets hot in everyday use or under light load, the battery is usually at its end or an app creates constant load. In the diagnostic check for EUR 25 we find the cause; the amount is waived on repair.

Is the Poco X6 waterproof?

No. The Poco X6 is only rated IP54 against splashes; a fall into water overwhelms the seals. After water contact switch it off immediately and do not charge it. The water damage treatment with cleaning of the mainboard costs from EUR 49, then we test screen, battery and charging port.

Yes. If the 64-megapixel camera only delivers blurry pictures or the image stays black, we replace the camera module for EUR 79. If only the glass over the camera is shattered, the glass replacement for EUR 19.90 is enough.
