Selling a broken Switch OLED
A cracked screen, a touchscreen that no longer responds, or an OLED that shows no picture on the TV when docked: as long as the console was never opened, we pay from 50 €. Our Vienna workshop takes care of the troubleshooting.
How selling the Switch OLED works
In the calculator you state how the OLED starts, what the screen and frame look like and which accessories are included. Once you agree, you get an insured label by email and drop the parcel at the post office without postage. We check screen, Joy-Cons, dock and battery, then pay by bank transfer or PayPal around 48 hours later. More in our trade-in terms.
Getting the Switch OLED ready to sell
Transfer your saves to your new console or back them up with Nintendo Switch Online. Unlink the OLED under HOME Menu › Virtual Game Cards › Settings, then reset it fully under System Settings › System › Formatting Options. Take out the microSD card and game cards, and pack the dock, power adapter and both Joy-Cons.

How much more is the Switch OLED worth than the regular Switch?
150 € like new compared with 110 € for the regular Switch. Buyers pay more for the larger OLED screen, 64 instead of 32 GB of storage and the dock with a LAN port.
Is it worth selling the OLED when I switch to the Switch 2?
Yes, a well-kept OLED gives you 120 € towards the upgrade, 150 € like new. Many Switch games also run on the Switch 2, and your digital purchases stay in your Nintendo Account.
How much do scratches on the OLED screen lower the price?
Fine marks on the screen that only show in the light keep the Switch OLED at 120 €. Clearly visible scratches put it at 85 €. A screen protector you peel off before shipping often reveals flawless glass underneath.
Do you buy a Switch OLED with screen burn-in?
Yes. If outlines of menus or games stay visible permanently, that counts as a screen defect; state it in the calculator. Unopened, we buy the Switch OLED with it too, from 50 €.
What do you pay for a Switch OLED with drifting Joy-Cons?
With Joy-Con drift the OLED is at 85 €, if everything else works. We replace the sticks ourselves. We do not buy single Joy-Cons without a console.
Does the white dock have to be included when I sell my Switch OLED?
Not necessarily, but without the dock we deduct the replacement. The full set with dock, power adapter, HDMI cable, Joy-Con grip and both Joy-Cons brings the price up to 150 €.
Do I get more for the Switch OLED in its original box?
A little, box and original cables add a small bonus in the calculator. It is not required; what matters is packaging in which the screen does not get scratched.
Can I send the Switch OLED for free from Upper Austria or Tyrol?
Yes. The insured label is free throughout Austria, and you drop the OLED at the post office in Linz, Innsbruck or any other town. The price is the same as in Vienna.
What does return shipping of the Switch OLED cost if I reject the price?
10 € for return shipping, and only if you decline the inspected offer. If the price differs from your estimate, we explain why beforehand.
How do I wipe the Switch OLED and remove my Nintendo Account?
Unlink the OLED under HOME Menu › Virtual Game Cards › Settings. Then initialise it fully under System Settings › System › Formatting Options, which deletes users and data. We cannot buy it with an account still linked.
How quickly do you pay for the Switch OLED?
Around 48 hours after the inspection by bank transfer or PayPal. We do not pay cash, so every payment is documented.
Selling a Switch OLED: MediaMarkt or Reparo?
MediaMarkt buys game consoles but, according to its trade-in page, pays only as a gift card. With us you get money for the Switch OLED by bank transfer or PayPal, even if it has a fault.
Does the battery of the Switch OLED matter when I sell it?
Yes, but less than on the first Switch. If the OLED lasts clearly shorter in handheld mode than it used to, state it; we replace the battery ourselves. The deduction is usually smaller than for a screen defect.
Do you buy the Switch OLED together with games or a memory card?
No, we only buy the console with Joy-Cons, dock and cables. Take game cards and the microSD card out before shipping.
