Samsung charging port — Galaxy A, S and older models
Galaxy A-Series
Modern Galaxy A-Series devices (A40 to A56) use USB-C with 15 W to 25 W fast charging. The charging port is a soldered board socket — when worn or bent, swap is the cleanest fix. From EUR 59 including fitting and charge test.
Galaxy S-Series
The Galaxy S-Series (S20 to S25) uses USB-C with 25 W to 45 W Super Fast Charging. Because of the higher load, the port is a higher-spec part — repair from EUR 79. After fitting we check the fast-charging behaviour with the original charger.
Older models (before 2018)
All Samsung devices launched before 2018 typically use Micro-USB: Galaxy S7, S6, J-Series (J3, J5, J7) and A5 (2017). From the Galaxy S8 and the 2018 A-Series, Samsung switched to USB-C. Reparo keeps replacement parts for both standards in stock.

These signs point to a faulty charging port
Charging cable falls out
The port has worn out, the cable doesn't lock anymore. Most common sign — port replacement fixes it.
Only charges with the cable in one direction
USB-C is reversible. If it only works one way, contacts inside the port are bent or worn — replacement needed.
Charging stops mid-cycle
The port loses connection during use. Often combined with cable wobble. Cleaning sometimes helps, otherwise replacement.
Fast charging no longer working
Phone charges only with 5 W instead of 25 W or 45 W. Faulty data lines in the port. We check the part and replace if needed.
No PC connection possible anymore
Data lines damaged. Charging still works, but USB connection to the PC fails. Replacement restores the data path.
Device doesn't charge at all
Port completely defective, contact corroded or pin broken. Diagnosis required — EUR 25, waived on repair order.

Replace charging port or buy a new Samsung?
A new Samsung Galaxy A55 5G costs from EUR 389, an S25 from EUR 899. The charging port repair from EUR 59 is the cheaper fix in almost every case — you keep your data, your apps, your familiar device. Only when several parts are broken at the same time does buying new make sense.
Parts: USB-C, Micro-USB and when cleaning is enough
USB-C (from Galaxy S8, A8 2018)
All modern Samsung models from 2018 use USB-C. The part is a board socket fitted with about 24 pins. Wear and pin bend are typical defects. With 25 W or 45 W fast charging the load is high — higher-spec parts here.
Micro-USB (Galaxy S7, J-Series, A5 2017)
Older devices use Micro-USB. Symmetrical, less robust than USB-C, but cheap to source. From EUR 59 the same as USB-C.
Cleaning instead of replacement — when that's enough
Sometimes lint and dust block the port — the cable then doesn't seat properly. A careful ultrasonic cleaning sometimes solves the problem without a swap. Diagnostic check EUR 25, waived if cleaning is enough.
Samsung charging port repair Vienna — Reparo explains
Samsung charging port broken — common causes
Most common: lint and dust in the port (cable doesn't seat properly), pin bend from wrong cable insertion, corrosion after moisture, wear after years of plug cycles. Manufacturer wear from around 3–4 years of daily use.
S10 charging port repair — a frequently searched model
The Galaxy S10 had a notably high charging port failure rate from year 3 onwards. Replacement from EUR 79, finished in around 2 hours.
Wireless charging as a stopgap
From Galaxy S8 most Samsung models support Qi wireless charging. If the cable port is broken, wireless charging can serve as a stopgap until the repair — but fast charging won't work that way.
Hand-in by appointment in the 22nd district is possible; pickup across Vienna and send-in from all over Austria are the alternatives
Book a slot and drop off in the 22nd district, have it picked up, or send it in: all three routes are open. Vienna pickup service or send-in from anywhere in Austria. We bring the device back to you when finished.
Frequently asked questions about the Samsung charging port repair
What does the Samsung charging port repair cost at Reparo?
Prices start at EUR 59 for the simpler A-series models. The Galaxy S10 port costs EUR 79, and S-series flagships from the S20 to the S25 also start at EUR 79 because of the higher-spec fast-charging port. Micro-USB models (S7, J series) are checked on request. Diagnostic check 25 EUR, waived on repair.
How do I tell whether the charging port is broken or just dirty?
If the cable sits loosely or the contact pins are visibly bent, the port is mechanically damaged. If the device charges normally again after a careful clean with a toothpick (no metal!), dirt was the trigger. If in doubt, the diagnostic check (25 EUR) settles it reliably before a part is replaced unnecessarily.
How long does the Samsung charging port repair take?
The actual repair takes around two hours on most Samsung models. Add the time for pickup or send-in. For orders by post please allow two to four working days in total. In Vienna with the pickup service the device is often ready the same day.
My Samsung S7 will not start or charge – what is the problem?
That is a typical combined symptom. Either the Micro-USB port is so damaged that the battery ran flat and the device therefore will not start – or there is a deeper board problem. The diagnostic check (25 EUR) separates the two reliably. Only then do we recommend a repair and quote a fixed price.
Which Samsung models still have Micro-USB?
All Samsung devices launched before 2018 generally use Micro-USB. That includes the Galaxy S7, S6, the J series (J3, J5, J7) and the A5 (2017). From the Galaxy S8 and the A series from 2018 Samsung switched to USB-C. Reparo keeps spare parts for both standards in stock.
Does wireless charging affect the wear of the charging port?
Yes – if you charge your Samsung wirelessly on a regular basis, you plug the cable in less often and reduce the mechanical wear on the port. That is no disadvantage but a sensible way to treat the device. For data transfer and fast charging, however, the port remains indispensable.
Can wireless charging be used as a stopgap if the port is broken?
Short-term, yes – Samsung devices with wireless charging can be kept going if the port fails. Long-term it is no solution: you can no longer back the device up by cable or transfer data, and you lose fast charging. We recommend not putting the repair off for too long.
Can I bring my Samsung straight into the shop?
Only with a booked appointment: drop-off takes place in the 22nd district at a fixed slot, otherwise use the pickup service in Vienna or send the device in by post. That way we make sure every device gets enough time and care.
How does pickup for the charging port repair in Vienna work?
You book an appointment online or by phone and enter your address and preferred time. A courier collects your Samsung, Reparo carries out the repair and the device is delivered straight back to you. The service applies within Vienna. The fee for pickup and return is shown when you book.
Can I send my Samsung in from anywhere in Austria for the port repair?
Yes. The send-in service applies Austria-wide. You pack your Galaxy safely, post it to Reparo in Vienna and get it back insured after the repair. The exact procedure is on the send-in service page. Repair time after arrival is usually one working day.
Will I lose my data during the charging port repair?
No. The charging port is a mechanical part – replacing it does not touch any data storage. Photos, apps, contacts and settings remain fully intact. We still recommend a current backup before any repair as a general precaution.
Is there a warranty on the Samsung charging port repair?
Yes. Reparo gives a 6-month warranty on the fitted part and the repair work. Damage from renewed moisture, drops or plugging in unsuitable accessories after the repair is excluded.
Is a charging port repair worth it, or is a new Samsung more sensible?
The repair almost always pays off. A Galaxy A55 5G costs from EUR 389 new, the charging port repair at Reparo from EUR 59. On the S25 the repair from EUR 79 compares with a new price of EUR 899. Only if the device has several defects at once or the diagnostic check shows serious board damage would buying new be worth considering.
What if the fault is on the board rather than the port?
It happens, especially on devices with moisture damage or after drops. The diagnostic check (25 EUR) establishes whether the charging problem is caused by the port or by charge-management components on the main board. If it is a board issue, we tell you honestly about effort and repairability before any costs arise.
My Samsung no longer charges after getting wet – what should I do?
First: switch the device off immediately and stop trying to charge it – moisture and current can cause short circuits. Keep the device in a warm, dry place for at least 24 hours. Then send it to Reparo or have it picked up. Wet ports often show damage only days later – the diagnostic check inspects both port and board for corrosion.
