Seven years later it is also one of the most-requested vintage repairs in our 1020 workshop. The reason is split between sentiment (compact phones with stereo front speakers no longer exist) and necessity (Pixel 3 owners hit a notorious end-of-life bootloop pattern around year 5–6 that nobody at Google has publicly acknowledged but every Pixel repair shop knows about). We laser-separate the broken two-tone back from the aluminium frame, transplant the wireless-charging coil (the Pixel 3 was Google's first wireless-charging Pixel via Pixel Stand) and NFC antenna sticker, bond on a new two-tone glass back in the same colour combination (Just Black, Clearly White or Not Pink), and apply fresh IP68 adhesive. The matte/glossy split is preserved exactly.
Pixel 3 USB-C port is loose or not charging — what is the fix?
The USB-C port on the Pixel 3 is soldered to the lower flex assembly. After seven years of daily plug-ins it almost universally develops contact issues. We desolder and replace the port with a new equivalent component. Fixed price EUR 49, 1 to 2 hours, 6-month warranty on the part and the solder work.
Pixel 3 front speakers crackle or are quiet — can they be fixed?
Yes — this is one of the few modern phones we still get with stereo front-firing speaker faults, because the speakers sit above and below the small 5.5-inch screen with grilles that easily clog with dust and pocket lint. We clean the grilles ultrasonically and replace the speaker modules for EUR 39 fixed (the cheapest speaker repair in our pricing). The earpiece doubles as the upper stereo speaker, so you get both fixed in the same job.
Is my data safe during a Pixel 3 repair?
For screen, battery, camera, camera glass, speaker and USB-C repairs, all your data stays intact — we only open the housing, the storage chip is never touched. Google One backup recommended (note that Pixel 3 free original-quality Google Photos upload ended in 2021). With bootloop work or logic-board repairs data loss is possible and we will flag it in advance.

Yes. Active Edge uses pressure sensors built into the frame, not the screen or back glass — the squeeze gesture is preserved through every standard repair we run. Note that on devices currently in our workshop we usually find Active Edge has been disabled in software by the owner because it triggers Assistant accidentally too often.
