Without scratches an iPhone XS with 64 GB brings up to 55 € with us, up to 45 € with light marks, up to 35 € with clear wear and from 15 € when faulty. On the XS it is mainly the OLED screen that pulls the price down: after eight years many units show a green tint or burned-in images, and a new OLED is expensive for a phone of this age. Scratches in the polished steel frame, which show quickly on this model, come on top.

Is the iPhone XS still up to date?
The iPhone XS went on sale in September 2018. Its last major software version is iOS 18; iOS 26 cannot be installed. Erase and sign out of your iPhone XS
Make a backup to iCloud or a computer first. Then open your name in Settings, go to Find My and switch off Find My iPhone with your Apple Account password. Next, erase all content and settings under General › Transfer or Reset iPhone. If you use an eSIM, it is removed in the process. Apple’s official support instructions explain it in full.

Is the iPhone XS too old to sell?
Not too old, but the remaining value is small. The iPhone XS is around eight years old and does not get iOS 26. We still pay up to 55 €. When we checked on 21.09.2026, a large buyer such as rebuy offered 40 € for an XS in the best condition.
Can I still sell an iPhone XS with a broken screen?
Yes. A cracked, green-tinted or black screen makes the iPhone XS a faulty device, which we buy from 15 €. The only rule is that nobody except Apple has opened it. Tick the damage in the calculator.
What price do I get for an iPhone XS with a green tint?
A green tint or burned-in images count as a display fault on the iPhone XS. Enter it under the display question in the calculator; the amount drops noticeably because the OLED needs replacing. If it was never opened, the floor is 15 €.
How much do frame scratches reduce the price of an iPhone XS?
Fine marks on the shiny steel still count as light use, up to 45 €. Deep scratches, dented corners or scratches on the screen count as visible wear on the iPhone XS, which means up to 35 €.
How do you assess the battery of an iPhone XS?
You read the figure under Settings › Battery › Battery Health. Above 85 percent there is no deduction on the iPhone XS, between 80 and 85 percent a small one, below that a larger one. If the phone shows a message about an unknown battery, enter the repair in the calculator.

Sign out of your Apple Account under your name in Settings and confirm with your password. That turns off Find My, and the iPhone XS is no longer tied to you. We are not allowed to buy a locked device.
