Find X3 Pro — a classic with typical age-related issues

The Find X3 Pro was Oppo's most ambitious smartphone in 2021: the brand's first LTPO panel, a 10-bit colour pipeline, Snapdragon 888 and the quirky 60x Microlens camera that lets you photograph textile fibres or plant structures. Three years on it is still a top everyday device for most owners — provided the battery and screen still cooperate.

That is exactly where we come in: battery wear after 2+ years is standard, screen failures after drops are common. A battery swap for 69 EUR or a screen replacement for 169 EUR is worth it — because the device will otherwise comfortably last another 2–3 years technically.

The Snapdragon 888 and what it means

The Snapdragon 888 is known for getting properly warm under load. The Find X3 Pro did not get especially generous cooling — after 2–3 years the thermal paste between chip and cooling plate dries out. The result: the device heats up quickly during gaming or in-car navigation and throttles. With every mainboard repair we replace the paste at no charge — that brings temperatures back in line.

The Microlens camera: quirky but charming

The 3 MP micro camera with 60x magnification is a gimmick, but one with a wow effect. During repairs we make sure the module stays untouched — only the cover glass or main sensor are serviced. The Microlens itself sits separately and rarely fails.

Straight talk — the Find X3 Pro can now be had used for 250–350 EUR. A screen replacement for 169 EUR and a battery swap for 69 EUR pay off — but if the mainboard or camera module is defective, the repair quickly climbs to 250 EUR plus. There we would honestly tell you: buying used is sometimes the better option. We advise you without any self-interest.

How the repair works

Besides pickup and mail-in there are fixed drop-off slots in the 22nd district that you book online. Our Vienna courier comes to you, collects the device at an agreed time and brings it back repaired. Outside Vienna you send it in by post — we email you a shipping label or you use your own parcel service option. Return shipping is insured and costs you nothing extra.

After arrival our technician carries out a diagnosis (25 EUR, waived on repair) and sends you a quote. You decide whether we repair or send the device back uncleaned. No pressure, no pushiness — honest information, you decide.

Original vs. aftermarket on the Find X3 Pro

Original Oppo displays for the Find X3 Pro are hard to source, as the model was only sold in limited numbers here in Europe. We therefore fit high-quality OEM-grade LTPO panels — functionally and visually very close to the original. The 10-bit colour pipeline and HDR10+ support are preserved. On request we order original parts with a 60–100 EUR surcharge and a 7–10 working-day lead time.

How long does the repair take?

Is data kept during a screen or battery swap?

Yes — the storage is not touched during this work. Photos, contacts and apps are all there afterwards. Before longer work we still recommend a backup.

Does Snapdragon 888 heat improve after the repair?

Often yes — during mainboard work we renew the thermal paste at no charge. Many 3-year-old devices run noticeably cooler under load afterwards.

What is the difference between original and aftermarket?

Original: Oppo-branded panel, identical factory calibration, higher price. OEM aftermarket: identical specification from third-party makers, almost identical display, cheaper and faster to get.

Is the diagnosis free?

No — 25 EUR for an honest analysis. But: it is waived entirely on a repair order. So if we repair, you never pay for the diagnosis.

Is repairing this older model still worth it?

Used price for the X3 Pro: 250–350 EUR. A screen replacement at 169 EUR or a battery swap at 69 EUR is clearly worthwhile. For mainboard problems we recalculate — then we tell you honestly whether repair or buying used is the better value.

What do I do in case of water damage?

Switch the device off immediately — do not turn it on to test. No rice, no hairdryer, do not charge. Call us so we can start ultrasonic cleaning of the board as quickly as possible.

Does 65 W SUPERVOOC stay active after a battery swap?

Yes. We use SUPERVOOC-certified battery cells so that both 65 W wired charging and 30 W AirVOOC continue to work.

What warranty is there?

6 months on the repair and on every installed part — in writing on the invoice. If a fault appears at the repaired spot, we fix it free of charge during that time.
