The A72 was one of the few A models with a telephoto camera for triple zoom, and we check exactly that: after a drop its cover glass is often cracked or zoom shots turn blurry. If all four cameras work perfectly, the price stays in the upper grade.
Display, camera glass and zoom camera, battery health and storage size decide the price. In top condition the A72 is worth only 5 EUR more than the A70, not much for the extra zoom camera, and its resale value trails the A73 5G by 15 EUR.
Faulty A72? This is what is still in it
A crack in the display, a picture with bright spots or a battery that gives up after half a day: we buy the A72 like that too if it has never been opened. For a faulty device we pay about 30 percent of the top value, so from 15 EUR. In our workshop we then put it right.
The A72 compared with the A71 and A73 5G
Compared with the Galaxy A71, the A72 has a smoother 90 Hz display, a bigger 5,000 mAh battery and IP67 protection against water and dust. Make the A72 empty and free
Make a backup first, for example in Google backup or via Smart Switch to your new phone. Then remove the Samsung and Google accounts under Settings › Accounts and backup. After that reset the A72 under General management. If it asks for the language on restart and not for an old account, everything is right.
