If the touch suddenly only responds at the top, or individual areas fail completely, the touch digitizer is usually damaged. My Pixel 5a screen is black but it rings – what is that?
If the device vibrates or rings on incoming calls while the screen stays black, the main electronics are usually intact. The display module is faulty – often after drops, sometimes even without visible glass breakage. Replacing the OLED unit almost always solves the problem.
Do you use original Google displays or aftermarket?
