The model number starts with „A" and is printed in small type on the underside, right under the lettering. It decides which part we order and which of the two screen prices applies.
What typically fails on a MacBook Air
Battery replacement – €179
The Air no longer lasts two hours, macOS shows „Service recommended", or the case bulges slightly. The cell is glued into the top case; we release it with pull tabs, fit a new one at full capacity and calibrate it. €179, or €219 on the M4 models.
Screen replacement – €499
A crack across the Retina panel, a dark patch behind the glass, or stripes that move as you open the lid. Glass and panel are bonded on every Air, so the complete display assembly including the lid is replaced. €499, or €599 on the Air 15 M2, M3 and M4.
Keyboard repair – €249
One key silent, another typing double, backlight dropping out in rows. The Air models from 2020 use the sturdier scissor mechanism, so targeted cleaning often holds — and then you do not pay for the unit at all.
Trackpad no longer clicks – from €79
If the trackpad surface sits higher than the case or the click only works near the edge, the fault is rarely the trackpad. A swollen battery underneath is pushing against it. We always check both, otherwise the wrong part gets replaced.
Not charging – €189
No charging light, or power only flows at a certain plug angle. Three candidates on the Air: the cable, the USB-C or MagSafe port, and the charging circuit on the board. The diagnostic check tells us which one it is.
Liquid in the device – from €89
Tea, water or lemonade over the keyboard: switch the Air off immediately, do not plug it in, and please no rice. The sooner we clean the board and stop the corrosion, the better the chances for the logic board and your data.
Also available: fan cleaning — but only on the Intel Air, since the M-chip models run without a fan — and data recovery when the machine no longer starts but the files are needed. We sort out which applies on the phone.
Repairing a MacBook Air instead of replacing it
The Air is the machine most people do everything on: studies, admin, series, half the paperwork of a life. That is exactly why a failure hurts. The good news is that on these machines it is almost always a single component giving up while the rest has years left. An Air M1 from 2020 still receives macOS updates and is quick enough for office work and video — it is just sitting on a tired battery.

Why the screen is always replaced as a whole
On every Air generation the cover glass and the panel are bonded into one unit. A glass-only replacement, familiar from phones, is not possible — the panel underneath would be destroyed. We replace the complete lid and carry your camera, antennas and sensors across, so Face ID hardware and Wi-Fi behave exactly as before.

How much does a MacBook Air battery replacement cost in Vienna?
€179 for every Air from the 2018 Intel model up to the M3, and €219 for the M4 generation, whose cell is priced higher as a spare part. The figure covers the cell, the removal of the glued-in old one, calibration and a six-month warranty.
My Air shows “Service Recommended” — is the battery finished?
Usually yes, but we measure before we sell you anything. macOS raises that flag once the cell drops below roughly 80 per cent of its original capacity or the charge controller reports faults. We read cycle count and health first and tell you honestly if the cell still has life in it.
Is the screen more expensive on the 15-inch Air than on the 13-inch?
No. Both sizes cost the same: €499 up to the M2, and €599 from model year 2023 onwards, which covers the Air 15 M2, the M3 and the M4. The larger panel is bulkier to handle, but the work involved is identical.
Can you replace only the glass on a MacBook Air?
No, and nobody can. Apple laminates the panel to the aluminium lid, so glass, display and hinge cover form one sealed unit. Anyone offering a cheap “glass only” fix on an Air is either replacing the whole assembly anyway or about to damage the lid.
Will I lose my files during the repair?
No. The SSD is soldered to the logic board and is never touched during a battery, screen or keyboard job. You get the machine back with the same macOS installation, the same apps and the same logins. We still suggest a Time Machine backup beforehand, on principle rather than because of the repair.
How long does a MacBook Air repair take?
Most jobs are done within one working day once the part is in stock. A battery swap on an M-series Air takes a few hours because the cell is glued and has to come out with pull strips rather than force. If we need to order a panel, we tell you the waiting time before you commit.
Do you speak English?
Yes, the whole process runs in English if you prefer — phone, email, the written quote and the pickup. A large part of our laptop work comes from people who moved to Vienna recently, so this is routine for us rather than an exception.
Which MacBook Air models do you repair?
Every Air from the 2018 Intel generation onwards: the A1932 and A2179 with Intel chips, the M1 A2337, the M2 A2681 and A2941, the M3 A3113 and A3114, and the current M4 A3240 and A3241. The model number is printed in small type on the underside of the case.
Does it matter for the repair whether my Air is Intel or Apple Silicon?
For the price of a screen or keyboard, no. For cooling, yes: the Intel Air has a fan that clogs with dust and can be cleaned, while every M-series Air is passively cooled and has no fan at all. If someone offers you a fan cleaning for an M1 or later, they have not looked at the machine.
Do you fit original parts?
We fit parts that match Apple's factory specification for your generation — same resolution, same colour behaviour, same capacity. We do not fit panels with a different finish or cells with lower capacity just because they are cheaper, because that is exactly what turns into a warranty case later.
What does the diagnostic check cost?
€25, and it disappears from the bill the moment you approve the repair. If you decide against it after hearing the result, the €25 is all you pay and you get the Air back untouched. For liquid damage the check is €49 because it involves opening and cleaning the board.
Can you collect the Air from my flat in Vienna?
Yes. Our courier picks it up wherever you are — flat, shared flat or office — and brings it back repaired. Depending on the district that costs €14.90, €17.90 or €18.90, and the return trip is included in that figure.
I live outside Vienna — can I post the Air to you?
Yes, we take send-ins from all of Austria and pay for the insured return shipment. Power the Air down, wrap it in bubble wrap, allow five centimetres of padding on every side of a firm box and enclose a note with your contact details and a short description of the fault.
Can I hand the Air over in person?
Yes, by appointment. There is no walk-in shop with opening hours; drop-off happens in the 22nd district during fixed slots, and you receive the exact address with the booking confirmation. That way somebody is actually there when you arrive. The slot also means the part is already on the bench when you arrive, so a battery or a charging port can often be finished while you wait nearby.
My Air got wet — what should I do right now?
Switch it off, do not plug it in and do not try to dry it with a hairdryer or a bowl of rice. Both push moisture deeper into the machine. Bring it in as it is: we open it, clean the board and then tell you whether cleaning alone is enough. The clean costs €49, any repair beyond that starts at €89.
