The pattern that defined every Pixel A through 9a started here. Yes — this is one of our more nostalgic repairs. The 3.5 mm jack assembly on the Pixel 3a sits on a dedicated flex cable; when it fails (usually after years of repeated plug-cycles, lint accumulation or moisture exposure) it shows crackling, intermittent connection, or single-channel audio. Pixel 3a plastic back cover cracked — can it be replaced?
Yes. The Pixel 3a uses a polycarbonate (plastic) back — one of the things that kept its launch price at EUR 399. The repair is correspondingly simpler than on a glass-back Pixel 3 — no laser separation needed, no wireless charging coil to relocate. EUR 89 fixed price. The original two-tone matte/glossy split on the rear panel is preserved.
Does the Pixel 3a have wireless charging or water resistance?
Neither. Google removed both to hit the EUR 399 launch price. Wireless charging cannot be added back at any price (no internal coil), and there is no IP rating — you need to treat the 3a like a non-water-resistant phone, which is actually safer than treating an IP-rated phone with worn-out seven-year-old adhesive seals.
Is my data safe during a Pixel 3a repair?
For screen, battery, camera, camera glass, speaker, headphone jack and USB-C repairs, all your data stays intact — we only open the housing, the storage chip is never touched. Google One backup recommended. With water damage or logic-board work data loss is possible and we will flag it in advance.
