Pixel 3 vs. Pixel 3a camera — what's the difference?
Main camera: identical (12.2 MP IMX363). Front camera: different. The Pixel 3 has a dual front camera with a wide-angle selfie lens, the Pixel 3a has only a single 8 MP front camera. For the module replacement that means: the front modules of the two models are not interchangeable.
Does the Pixel 3a have water protection?
No. The Pixel 3a has no official IP protection — unlike the Pixel 3 (IP68). If it comes into contact with water you should switch the device off immediately and not charge it. For water damage take a look at the Pixel hub.
Pixel 3a front camera shows only black — what can it be?
The most common cause is a loose or faulty connector on the front camera module. Sometimes it's the module itself after a drop. A software reset of the camera app rarely helps — with a classic black selfie image it's almost always hardware.
How long does the repair take?

We use modules with original sensors (IMX363 main camera) or modules from tested factory pulls. We don't fit plain no-name modules — they often deliver a colour cast and no HDR+ on the Pixel 3a. Quality matters so much on the 3a because the software optimises the sensor heavily.
What does a camera diagnostic cost if I don't go ahead with the repair?
The diagnostic costs 25 € and is an honest assessment — no "replace everything as a blanket measure". If you then commission the repair, the diagnostic is offset, so you only pay the 59 € fixed price. If you decline, you only pay the 25 €.
What happens if a fault still occurs after the replacement?
Within the 6-month warranty we take a look free of charge. Should the mainboard be the actual cause — very rare on the Pixel 3a — we inform you openly about the options before any additional step.

Can the autofocus break even without a drop?
Yes, on the Pixel 3a we quite often see autofocus defects without mechanical damage. The lens drive is one of the most common wear parts. Symptom: the camera "hunts" — focuses sharp briefly, then loses it again. A module replacement fixes this reliably.
