Why the S26 Ultra is more delicate to repair than the S26 or S26+

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the 2026 top-of-the-range Samsung — integrated S Pen, third-generation titanium frame, 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with LTPO and the new 200 MP main camera plus a 10x periscope telephoto. Every one of those features makes the device more complicated to open. Titanium does not flex the way an aluminium frame does — a rushed pry on the back glass can deform the frame for good. We schedule the Ultra differently for that reason: longer slot in the workshop calendar, low-temperature softening of the rear adhesive, and a controlled re-bond with fresh IP68 gaskets at the end.

S Pen behaviour after the repair — what we test

The S Pen on the S26 Ultra works through a Wacom digitiser layer that sits directly under the AMOLED panel. After any screen replacement we re-test pen detection across all four corners, pressure curve at light and heavy strokes, hover proximity, and the side-button latency. If you are bringing the Ultra in mainly because the S Pen no longer responds or feels imprecise, we usually start with a 25 EUR diagnosis — sometimes the fix is a EUR 39 pen tip replacement and a digitiser flex re-seat, sometimes a full screen swap.

The Ultra camera stack is the most complex on any current Samsung.
