How to sell your PS5 by post

Resetting your PS5 before you sell it
Upload your saves to the cloud or copy them to a USB stick. Under Settings › Users and Accounts › Other › Console Sharing and Offline Play, turn the feature off so the PS5 is no longer tied to your account. Then reset it fully under Settings › System › System Software › Reset Options. For the trade-in, both steps are requirements: we can only buy a PS5 with no account signed in.

How much do you pay for a PS5 with a broken HDMI port?
From 65 €, provided no other workshop has opened the PS5. A torn HDMI port is one of the most common faults on the original PS5, and we replace it ourselves. If everything else works, the trade-in value can be higher.
Is the disc PS5 worth more than the Digital Edition?
Yes. The disc PS5 gets 200 € like new, the PS5 Digital Edition 170 €. Buyers pay more because they can use second-hand game discs and Blu-rays.
Should I trade in my PS5 before I upgrade to a PS5 Pro?
If an upgrade is planned, yes: a well-kept PlayStation 5 brings 165 to 200 € now, and its resale value drops every month it sits unused. We also buy the PS5 Pro itself, for 400 € like new.
How much do scratches lower the price of my PS5?
Light marks on the glossy side panels that only show in the light keep the PS5 at 165 €. Scratches you notice at once, or yellowed panels, put it at 120 €. The side panels can be replaced, so it is never a reason to turn it down.
Will you buy a PS5 that shuts down from overheating?
Yes. On the original PS5 this is often dust in the fan or cooling that has worn out. Select overheating in the calculator to see the adjusted value. As long as the console is unopened, we still buy it.
Does the DualSense controller add to my PS5 trade-in?
Yes, a working DualSense clearly raises the value, and a second controller adds a bonus in the calculator. Stick drift costs a little but is no reason to refuse. Without a controller we buy the PS5 as well.
Can I sell my PS5 without the original box?
Yes, the box is not required for the trade-in. With power cable, HDMI cable and packaging you get a small bonus in the calculator. Without the box, pad the PS5 well, the label is insured.
Can I post my PS5 to you for free from Graz or Salzburg?
Yes, from anywhere in Austria, including Innsbruck and Klagenfurt. You get an insured label by email and drop the PS5 at the nearest post office. We pay the postage, and the price is the same as in Vienna.
What do I pay if I want my PS5 back after the inspection?
If you decline our inspected offer, we charge 10 € to ship it back. If the inspected price differs from the estimate, we tell you exactly why before you decide. Sending it to us stays free.
How do I remove my PlayStation account from the PS5 before selling?
Turn off Console Sharing and Offline Play under Users and Accounts › Other. Then reset the PS5 completely under System › System Software › Reset Options. While your account is active, we cannot buy the console.
When do I get paid for my PS5?
Around 48 hours after the inspection, by bank transfer or PayPal. We do not pay cash, so every purchase is properly documented.
Can I trade in my PS5 at GameStop or MediaMarkt in Austria?
GameStop closed its Austrian stores in early 2023, according to press reports. MediaMarkt buys game consoles but, according to its trade-in page, pays only with a gift card. We pay for your PS5 by bank transfer or PayPal, even if it is faulty.
Is it better to sell my PS5 privately on willhaben?
Privately you may get a little more, but you deal with messages, viewings and the risk of fake payments. With us the price is fixed after inspection and the money arrives around 48 hours later. A faulty PS5 rarely finds a private buyer.
Do you buy PS5 games and accessories on their own?
No, we only buy the PS5 itself, ideally with controller and cables. Single games, headsets or the charging station are not part of the trade-in. Take any disc out of the drive before shipping.
