Since the 2019/2020 US trade ban, new Huawei devices ship without Google Mobile Services. That affects the P40, P50, P60, Mate 30, Mate 40 and Mate 50 — these models run HarmonyOS with Huawei's own AppGallery. A repair does not change the operating system: HarmonyOS devices keep their software environment, and Google apps remain unavailable through official channels. Pre-ban models like P30, P20 or Mate 20 shipped with full Android and Google Play — nothing changes for them either after a repair. Honor: standalone brand since 2021 with full Google access

Honor was spun off from Huawei in late 2020 and has been operating without US restrictions since. Do post-2020 Huawei devices still have Google services after the repair?
No — that is a software restriction caused by the US trade ban, not a consequence of the repair. Models like P40, P50, P60, Mate 30, Mate 40 and Mate 50 shipped from the factory without Google Play Store and Google Apps. A repair changes nothing about that: the device still runs HarmonyOS and uses Huawei AppGallery. Apps like Google Maps, Gmail or YouTube are not officially available on these devices — independent of any repair.
Does Honor have Google Play again after the repair?
Yes, in full. Honor was sold off by Huawei as a separate company in late 2020 and no longer falls under US restrictions. All Honor models from Honor 50 onwards (released 2021) come with full Android and Google Play Services. After a repair on Honor 70, Honor 90, Honor 200 or Magic 5 Pro, the device has every Google service back exactly as before the defect.
What is Huawei AppGallery and does it still work after a screen replacement?
Huawei AppGallery is the official app store for Huawei devices without Google certification. It stays fully functional after a screen replacement or battery swap — all installed apps, HiSuite backup data and AppGallery purchases remain intact. We only replace the hardware part; the software environment is untouched.
Which defects are most common on Huawei?
The most frequent issues we see on Huawei devices: broken display on the P30 Lite (very thin cover glass), battery fading on the Mate 20 Pro after 2–3 years (3,900 mAh cell ages noticeably), faulty charging port on the P Smart 2019 (micro-USB connector), camera lens scratches on the P40 Pro (large exposed camera module) and display failure on the Nova 5T after a drop.
What does the Kirin chip mean for the repair?
Huawei's Kirin processor (e.g. Kirin 990 in the Mate 30 Pro, Kirin 9000 in the Mate 40 Pro) sits on the mainboard and is completely irrelevant for standard repairs like screen, battery or charging port — we replace the affected part without touching the board. Only with severe water damage or logic-board issues does chip architecture come into play. Kirin chips are not sold separately and cannot be swapped individually.
Do I lose my warranty if I let Reparo repair my Huawei?
The official manufacturer warranty from Huawei or Honor technically expires after a third-party repair. If your device is repaired after the manufacturer warranty period (usually 2 years), that is irrelevant. We provide our own 6-month warranty on all installed parts and labour — valid Austria-wide and independent of the manufacturer warranty.
Can my Huawei P30 Pro or Mate 20 Pro be saved after water damage?
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is IP68-certified, the P30 Pro is IP53 — that means a certain level of protection but no full submersion tolerance. After water damage, switch off immediately, do not charge, do not blow-dry. We clean the board in an ultrasonic bath, replace corroded parts and check battery and connectors. The faster you act, the higher the success rate — after 48 hours corrosion risk rises sharply.
Is a Huawei repair worth it or should I buy a new phone?
For Huawei models without Google services, the decision depends not only on repair cost but also on personal usage. If you get along with HarmonyOS and AppGallery: repair is almost always worth it — fixing a Mate 40 Pro display for €109 is cheaper than a new device. If you absolutely need Google Play: consider switching to Honor or another brand. We give honest advice — even if buying new is the better solution.

Will HarmonyOS still receive updates after a screen replacement?
Yes, OTA updates for HarmonyOS continue normally after a screen replacement — the connection to Huawei's update servers is not tied to the hardware repair. However, update availability depends on the model: older devices like P30 or Mate 20 have not received major system updates since 2022. That is a manufacturer decision, not a consequence of the repair.
How much does diagnosis cost and when is it waived?
Diagnosis costs €25. This fee is fully waived as soon as you place the repair order — you pay only the repair cost with no surcharge. After diagnosis you receive a binding quote and decide for yourself whether to proceed.
Are there differences between Huawei and Honor repairs?
Technically yes. Huawei models from 2020 onwards (P40 and newer, Mate 30 and newer) run HarmonyOS and partly require specific replacement parts that are not compatible with Honor models. Honor devices from 2021 onwards run standard Android — the parts situation is similar to Samsung or Xiaomi. We verify the exact model number before the repair to order the correct part.
